Ostrum AM supports the CDP campaign and calls on 1,600 of the world’s most impactful companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets.

Ostrum AM is a member of the CDP – formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project – and is proud to join forces with a group of financial institutions for the second year in a row to urge the most impactful businesses worldwide to establish and disclose their emissions-reduction plans. These programs must be built on sufficiently stringent scientific data to be approved by the United Nations-backed Science-Based Targets (SBTi) initiative, and comply with a 1.5°C climate warming scenario from July 2022.
As part of this international campaign, the CDP has teamed up with signatory investors to send letters to more than 1,600 companies that they invest in. Businesses targeted have a market capitalization of more than $41 trillion and make up more than 36% of the MSCI World Index.
Investors involved in this initiative represent 220 financial institutions across 26 countries and whose collective assets are worth close to $29.3 trillion, i.e. more than the GDP of the United States, China or the entire EU.
By way of reminder, the CDP, which coordinates the CDP Sciences-Based Targets campaign, is an international non-profit organization and has one of the largest worldwide databases of companies’ and cities’ environmental performances.
Ostrum AM plays its part in supporting this massive international mobilization by co-signing the letters sent to companies it invests in via its open-ended funds.
This collaborative engagement fits with our broader engagement strategy as both an equity investor and bondholder, and addresses our aim of supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 13, 14 and 15 on climate action, life below water and life on land
