Climate Change: Joe Biden's Opportunities

 

It is now a fact that global warming is at the heart of the US economic policy.

Two points should be highlighted. Firstly, the benefits of such a strategy. There are going to be very significant public investments, infrastructure investments with the objective of transforming this American economy so that it is effectively carbon neutral by 2050. That means a lot of investment and the creation of associated jobs. In other words, transforming the entire American economy. The same can be said of Europe.

The second point is whether Joe Biden will benefit from the political advantage he has today of having Congress on his side. Other presidents in the past, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, have faced political obstacles on this climate issue. It's up to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be convincing enough for America to actually take the step.
