Senior European Loan Fund II achieves second close at over €400 million

As part of their partnership and after a first €162 million close in 2016, AEW and Natixis Asset Management finalized a second capital raising transaction on January 26 for real estate loan fund Senior European Loan Fund II1 with French and international investors, bringing its investment capacity to over €400 million. A third close is planned soon with a target to reach total commitments of €750 million.

Senior European Loan Fund II, exclusively aimed at institutional investors2, has secured three investments in France, Germany and Italy totaling €75 million, while four additional transactions amounting to €100 million are under way, which would bring total investments to 44% of the total funds raised.

AEW and Natixis Asset Management are set to reinforce their dedicated real estate debt fund team, co-managed by Arnaud Heck at Natixis Asset Management and Cyril Hoyaux at AEW, as a result of growth in this joint business.
